Pr. Josephine McDonagh (University of Chicago) gave a paper entitled “Seeking Asylum: Nineteenth-Century Migration, the La Guayrian Emigrants, and Jane Eyre.” Her respondent was Dr. Sandeep Bakshi (Université de Paris).
