Step into the past with Battersea’s Victorian Day

Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, 4 Battersea Park Road, London SW8 4AA

Fee: Entry fee of £2 for adults, £1 children

On Saturday 3 October Battersea Dogs & Cats Home will be transformed back to Victorian times, to pay homage to its visionary founder Mary Tealby. Experience life as it was for residents of the Home over 150 years ago through the sights, sounds, smells and tastes of Battersea’s Victorian Day.

Victorian characters will give a fascinating insight into life for the dogs arriving at the ‘Temporary Home for Lost and Starving Dogs’, as it was then known. Enjoy a tour of our kennels and cattery, gain a glimpse into life as a stray dog on the streets in the 1860s and marvel at our museum of wonder.
