As you may know, Oscar Wilde and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle shared a famous dinner with the American Publisher of Lippincott’s Magazine, JM Stoddart, at the Langham Hotel in 1889 and were commissioned to write The Picture of Dorian Gray and The Sign of Four. Not a bad night’s work!
2015 is the 125th anniversary of the novel’s publication in Lippincott’s and the production is a thrilling celebration of this literary landmark. It features Guy Warren-Thomas (Downton Abbey), Gwynfor Jones (The Woman in Black), Rupert Mason (A Touch of Frost) and newcomer Helen Keeley.
Attached is the flyer for the show and here are a couple of recent reviews:
Merlin Holland will also be giving a talk about Dorian Gray on Fri 19th and Sat 20th June before the show.
