Victorian Persistence Seminar, session 25: “Chartism in Poetry”

Session 25 of our seminar took place on Tuesday 8th of April 2014 at the Université Paris Diderot-Paris 7 (Salle 153, Bâtiment Olympe-de-Gouges, 17h30-19h30).

Mike Sanders (University of Manchester) gave a paper entitled “L’aube des prolétaires? Reading Chartist Poetry after Rancière.” Fabienne Moine (Université Paris Ouest Nanterre la Défense), gave a paper entitled “A Sense of Belonging/s: Eliza Cook’s Contribution to Chartist Poetry.” Their respondent was Pr. Fabrice Bensimon (Université Paris-Sorbonne).

We worked with the following texts:
