INTERDISCIPLINARY NINETEENTH-CENTURY CULTURE FORUM, OXFORD
Michaelmas Term 2012 of Oxford’s Interdisciplinary Nineteenth-Century Culture Forum will begin with a bang (!), as we herald our term’s theme of “Sex and the Nineteenth Century” with a series of movie screenings (including Hysteria (2011) and Wilde (1997)); trips to museums and art galleries in Oxford and London; and a seminar series that engages with the idea of sex as a fundamental aspect of nineteenth-century culture, values, and identities. We attach our Call For Papers (CFP Sex and the Nineteenth Century), with a reminder that the forum is open to contributions from academics at all stages of their career, in all disciplines, who share a common interest in the nineteenth century. We will issue a final programme for the term in September, and look forward to seeing you all there!
